There I was standing on the tallest bridge in South Africa with my back to what was about to be a 216 meter drop. The tallest bungy jump bridge in the world. I look down at my harness that is merely just a decoration since the bungy is only attached to my ankles. Goosebumps arise on my skin from nerves or the cold air I’m not sure which. They walk me to the edge and I'm not sure if I am far enough. I kept looking down at my bare feet, panicking that I am not doing it right, nervous I won't jump far enough, worried I will mess up. Before I jump they tell me to look at the bridge when I jump, but I get too jittery and I keep forgetting which part of the bridge to look at. That’s when one of the guides says forget about the bridge. He said that's far enough, you're perfect. You're enough just look at me. And when I look up at him I knew there was only truth in those words. I lock eyes with him and he looks at me with a steadiness I can't describe. He is so sure, so confident I don't need to see where I am going. I don't need to look anywhere else. I don't need to check the straps holding my feet. I only have to stare into his eyes and take the leap of faith. In that instant all fear disappeared. I just had peace. They counted down and I jumped not seeing where I was going, but trusting it would be good. And man was it good. I felt the rush of the wind with the splendid eastern cape canyon on one side and the endless Indian Ocean on the other. I let out screams of joys as I took it all in. My breath taken away from something more than just the jump.

That's how God looks at us everyday with a confidence and sureness that is unshakable. We are his creation. There is no mistake. He is certain of it. And if you trust him you will experience his undescribable peace. Phillipians 4:7. There is no need to look around for other answers, other paths. There is no start line you have to reach. You're perfect right where you are. All you need to do is look up and when you lock eyes with him he isn't going to let you get hurt. He might let you fall, but that is only because you are falling deeper into his love, deeper into his grace, deeper into his freedom.
