One of the many things I have been learning lately here at excel college in Black Mountain. And yes I did say college and no I am not teaching but rather auditing classes to be disciplined so I can help disciple others better. Their mission is to secure America’s Christ-centered future through educating and discipling in Community. 

Right now we are currently studying philosophy with Christian and non christian authors learning and teaching people how to flourish. “Flourishing means being healthy and whole in body, soul, and spirit - not just thriving in the classroom, but in all areas of life. At Excel, students learn to thrive intellectually, spiritually, practically, professionally, and missionally.”- Excel community 

Other communities I am currently plugged into and serving is still adventures and missions but through better together, where we continue to do disaster relief from Hurricane Helene. Last week I had the privilege of helping a team from Texas install dry wall for an entire house in one day. Not gonna lie those teenagers slayed. Pretty cool that all these private christian high schools take a full week of school off every year to do a mission trip. Their groups go out all over the US and in other parts of the world. Another group is serving from Tampa Florida this week. An all girls school that looked and played the part with their carhartts overalls not afraid to get dirty or lift a hand. I had the privilege of helping them put together an oven since Mercy Chefs just this month stopped providing meals for this area. But we were super grateful and could not have fed the 150 weekly volunteers without them. But we also get to partner with operation blessings and many other organizations. Up and coming is a mission trip to puerto rico and dominican republic. Gonna get to do some sports ministry, door to door outreach, vbs and worship. I can’t wait to see God move their and partner with more schools. One is coming from seattle and they use sports weekly as a ministry out reach. 

Praises for the community I am surrounded in and opportunity to grow my leadership. Also slowly getting plugged into a very cool church that is focused on house church and serving the community locally. Continued prayers for my sister in law with health and last little fundraising I have left. And hopefully a job here while I am state side for a bit.
